Just curious to hear others’ opinions! Would you remove these pale outer leaves, or just let them go until they die back? I just repotted with fresh soil, so hopefully I’ll have new growth soon!
yeah, the plant is probably not getting any energy from them (they are probably in roughly metabolic demand/supply equilibrium), and they are not very aesthetic. Remove and make room for more. Fertilize and consider repotting with fresh soil too!

Yes. You won’t even need to remove the blooms, those leaves are a net drain on her now. Pretty violet!

I always remove old outer leaves when repotting. After removing some old soil in the bottom and a bit around, bury the main stem a little lower but do not cover the lower base leaf stem with soil coz it can cause stem rot. The bare stem with the old leaves came off will grow new roots that helps your violet grow new leaves in the center or crown. Im no expert but this works for me. 🤗

I don’t cause I’m a bit lazy and the plant does use them through a process caused leaf senescence. I usually wait till they pull off easily.
But if the plant is in ideal growing conditions and is healthy it’s barely going to notice, you might get a few more suckers tho.

Yes I’d remove the lighter leaves. AV plants grow from the top and the bottom leaves have served their “purpose” They no longer support the plant. When you hear someone say they need to clean their plants, this is usually what they’re talking about in the AV world.

I don’t remove them til they shrivel up, mostly because I’m lazy but it’s never hurt mine before! I personally justify it by thinking they have to have some energy left in them if they’re still kinda green 😂

for sure. i remove leaves a lot to make room for the flowers, especially if they already look bad
