We've got poison Ivy, Poison Oak and Poison Sumac which I think is the WORST. It is so pretty but what it does to your skin is terrible and it seems to last longer. I learned that what you can do if you recognize you've been exposed to these poisonous plants is to get a wash cloth with a rough weave and scrub your skin as hard as you can where you were touched by the plant. That is often enough to remove the oil so you won't break out later or if you do, it won't be nearly as bad compared to regular washing.
The forest floor is so pretty when it is just waking up in spring but then sometimes has hidden toxins for people. Hope you get some relief from the poison ivy soon too. Take care…
