ID: What are these thick patches of dark grass that are growing in faster than the rest of the lawn? KS, USA


I have these patches throughout my yard that have sprung up faster this spring than the rest of the lawn. What is it?

    It’s dog pee spots. Fertilize the rest of the grass to get it to green up together.

    Someone’s letting their dogs pee in your yard. If you fertilize it’ll green up the rest of your yard but then if dogs continue to pee there may be over-fertilized dead spots later
