Hi all, I left my Echeveria purpusorum succulent at home while I went to uni, family have been watering it for me, left in direct sunlight.
Seems healthy still but started picking up a red tint. Just curious as to what may have caused this as I haven’t seen this happen in the last 5 years that I’ve owned it.
For ref the second picture is from a couple years back
Also wanted to ask if there’s a way to stop leaves decaying at the bottom. This has only started over the last couple years…
Thanks!

It looks like it’s done all right. The red tint is from direct sunlight. I’m kind of surprised that it looks like it’s done all right because it’s in a basket with a plastic liner? Does it have any drainage?
Ideally you would have it in a pot with cactus and succulent soil, and only about an inch larger than the root mass. Water thoroughly, and then let to dry. That might slow the leaves from dying down below. Though losing some of the foliage is a natural part of aging.
happy sun stress colors.
