There has been some weird growth on leaves near the crown of this starter. It started back in late February and I bagged it then (1st 2 pics). I even had it tested for mites as it was so concentrated around the crown but the extension agent found no mites on this one or any of the other weirdo starters near it.
Fast forward to now and there are clusters of baby leaves on the crown leaves and elsewhere. Why is it doing this? Should I trim these off?

I don’t have any advice but just wanted to say this gave me the willies

  2. Well did those leaves get damaged at one point and is a humidity bag? It kind of reminds of those plants called mother of thousands plants.

It’s strange for sure & awesomeness! I’d definitely keep it going I’d have to know what it produces very interesting stuff!!

I had a visceral negative reaction to this and I don’t know why. What does the monkey brain know

This is horrifying! I suggest you post it to an African Violet group on facebook or send the photos in to your local African Violet society. Someone there would know what’s going on. I’ve never seen something like this…wow!

I don’t know why it’s throwing a bunch of variegated pups off the edges of the leaves, but I’m super jealous! LOL Let them get a little bigger and the pot them up!
