On Puget Sound west of Seattle. Totally uneducated on lawn and grass care, forgive me for my ignorance. Looking for general advice on where to start. Bought house with small yard 2 years ago in the summer. Once we had had contract owners stopped watering and when we got the keys the grass was all basically dead mid to late summer, brown. That winter the uniform grass went to this spotty look. I put weed and feed last spring to try to help it out but it didn’t really help.
Have two small toddlers and want to get the grass somewhat level and consistent this year or next. Should I overseed and keep fertilizing/water over the summer, then seed again next early spring? Or is it too far gone and I should just start from scratch and dig it all up and reseed?
Please have mercy on me and my yard.
