Great top 10. Got a question. I have a large older Japanese maple in my yard. Around 15 to 20 feet tall trunk caliper around 1foot or so. It randomly loses branches each spring. Usually two or three, and usually lower branches. Is this a normal habit for larger japanese maples? I have been pruning the dead branches out as they die. For the most part the tree is healthy. Not sure of variety. It has a green leaf that turns yellow in fall. 25 year old tree.
