  1. Lol ,you guys crack me up! I like that bench camera guy built. His wood burning skills are like mine , practice makes perfect. Those drip trays with the drain plugs are genius, I need some of those for future projects. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Hi Kim,
Three days ago, I decided to roll the dice, and start planting my warm weather crops. My average last frost date is April 10th. There are a couple days, the 8th and 9th, with temperatures forecasted in the upper 30s. The trend is for warmer weather. It may bite me in the ass, but I have tomatoes, cilantro, dill, and basil in the ground. Other things too, but they can handle a frost. My alyssum is flowering, so I need to plant that too. If the weather changes, my tomatoes just happen to be under the frame of my polytunnel, and I still have the cover, so I can put the cover back on the frame for a day or two. The basil, dill and flowers, except for the Amaranth, can be resown. I’m out of Amaranth seed, and haven’t decided whether I’ll replant it, or not. So far, the color is inspiring with a deep burgundy. It is going to stand out in the garden. I can hold off on planting it for a week or so. The sunflowers, and cucumbers just sprouted, so it will be two weeks before they go in the ground. The sweet potato slips won’t go in the ground until after the mustard and radishes have been harvested and temperatures are above 85F. Figure the beginning of May. I’m waiting on cantaloup and watermelon seeds to sprout, so no problem there. That leaves peppers. It will be a few days before I get to planting peppers. I’m planting them in GreenStalk towers. They hold a lot of heat in their central core. That heat will keep them alive with a frost. My luck, is it takes a freeze to kill peppers planted in them. There is time to resow if I have to, but if I do, it won’t be until after peak summer heat before I get a harvest. I have plenty of diced peppers to get by until then, but none to share with the chickens and neighbors if I have to resow. Decisions. Decisions. It is a gamble, but I am going all in this year, and praying it doesn’t bite me in the butt. If all goes well, the gamble will pay off in spades, with a bumper crop of tomatoes harvested before peak summer heat. If they keep producing, maybe I’ll keep them going to see what they do?

  3. 85F? cooking! Hope that is not a harbinger of things to come!
I have 2 yards of organic soil coming in this week to spread out and start seeds.

  4. At moment 16:30…. soooo good! 😉 Jerry, you and I are photographers because that's our art expression that doesn't rely on, I don't know… manual dexterity? lol

  5. This was absolutely the best video. You guys are hilarious, you made me laugh so hard. I had tears rolling down my face. The chemistry between you two really came through and that's why we love you two so much. I love the content as well. I've been wanting to add hanging baskets but I worry about them drying out here in the desert. I just started some petunias for an addition of color and to attract more bees and hummingbirds to my garden. Anyway I had to comment because this was the best video. 😂🤣❤️❤️

  6. OMG! You two are hilarious! CG, it's an A for effort! At least you tried. The potting bench came out awesome and way to recycle old materials, it was practically free!
Kim, I also had to get some plant starts, mine did not germinate and had to start completely over. ☹
Again, thank you both for all you do for us and sharing your wealth of knowledge with us. Y'all are an inspiration to me and other novice gardeners I'm sure!
    Much love from TEXAS!

  7. Wow! Your deck looks great, and Kim I actually enjoy cleaning up the garden! Your hanging baskets look great, and you work Really Fast!! Jerry, don’t be so hard on yourself 😊 It’s awesome to tap into your inner child 😉🎨
I just built a sort of odd shaped tall teepee trellis. My neighbor is asking, “What is she building?” My daughter in law assured her it will look nice. I will be dropping your names 😄🥰🌱🌻🫛🪴

  8. Kim I just moved to Palm Springs from somewhere back East. When do I start my plants here in the desert and when do I stop?

  9. Good stuff! "Lazy Gardening"- ha! Now you're barking up my territory. The garden bench engraving was a hoot! While it may not be neat and refined, it definitely has character and will continue to provide you with the "Giggles" for times to come.

  10. Hi, Calkim my seedlings are looking bad the leaves are yellow I watched your video as you suggested for fertilizer so I bought Vitality and Guana and fish fertilizer. The vermis terra is delivered today but the guano is not coming until the next five days from Monterey. My question is what can I do to improve the situation until I get the guano and fish fertilizer
