So basically I want to know what people would charge for my yard if they were to mow it? Front yard is reasonable length, but backyard is definetly overgrown. I was quoted $300 aud for my yard and wondering if that’s a reasonable price for it, I feel it’s abit steep.

Lol no but really just buy a mower these kinds of things are becoming more and more expensive in certain markets I would gladly cut that in 20-30 minutes to save legit thousands a year.
On the plus side it’s healthy too get out there every couple weeks !
& afterwards you can kick your feet up for some BBQ back there if you get a grill maybe even go wild & get some chicken wings with some ribs !
Yard doesn’t look all that big to me. I’m sitting on a little over an acre and typically they charge $80 usd every 2 weeks. It’s a little overgrown, but nothing incredibly substantial. Unless I’m missing a lot here it looks like you’re getting bent over and they gave you the “we don’t want to do it price”.
I don’t really know the going rate but I can say my husband and I did a lawn in significantly worse overgrown condition than that last year, and charged $70 CAD. It was perhaps an undercharge for the amount of work it ended up being, I don’t know for sure, but mentioning it because there are definitely willing people out there who would do it for less than your quote. Have you tried posting an ad online to get some more quotes? Rule of thumb, get at least 3 quotes before making any decision on a job like that.
That’s $190 USD. That’s insane, not even close to reasonable. I’m in the US but I do flat rate under 1/2 acre lot at $45($70aud) and basically don’t charge overgrown fees unless it’s multiple feet tall(way longer than yours). Maybe prices are a bit higher over there but there’s no way you should be paying over $100usd($150aud) for this.
