Please verify the seller is Hand Picked Nursery and not a different third party seller! Sometimes, other sellers are substituted. Ensure you are ordering from the correct seller. Most of the negative reviews are from people buying from other sellers with inferior roots. The strawberry varieties linked above are 25-CT bare roots for consistency and popularity, except where unavailable. Almost all are available in smaller and larger quantities.

  2. I have a problem with some type of a pest that takes a couple bites out of the beautiful strawberries and ruins them. I've put chicken wire around them I guess they're smaller than chicken wire I don't know but I just don't have any luck I'm in Connecticut with these pests rodents that desecrate my strawberries. Any recommendations?

  3. Check out Scenic Hill Farm Nursery , my bare roots have flowered after 3 weeks. They all came in a week and had green growth. The burbees were all pretty dry and slow. I'm still on hold from pine tree. But I ordered 3 varieties and they were all super green in the package and they sent me a pretty cool soil suggestion. They recommended a lot of gravel or similar in the mix . Dunno but they've outgrown my rooted runners from last year.

  4. I swear to you I can grow any seed you give me except a strawberry 😔😂. No idea what I’m doing wrong. I’ll definitely be buying some bare roots this year

  5. If I order berries through your link under your video, will you get credit for them? If not, I'll order elsewhere. I'm just trying to help you out because of all the work you do for us.
    Dandy Dale is a food junkie 😂 ❤❤❤ 🍓 🍓 🍓

  6. Hey Millenial! What the flip flop climate is happening?! Granted, I am in Sweden but I thought you guys are in chilly spring now? 😂

  7. I know someone is going to have the answer here cause I can't find one anywhere. I planted bare root strawberries, got a small $25 solar powered irrigation system to water them individually (testing it! To see how well it works)…how often should the bare roots be watered ? I have several settings to choose from (12 hrs/5min, 12 hrs/10min, etc).

  8. FYI, I bought from same company "Handpicked nursery" but online through Walmart. 😅 didn't know you could buy directly from seller.

  9. Just counted my strawberries (Everbearing, Eversweet) from Hand Picked Nursery, I ordered 25, received 28. All plants looked great upon arrival and have held up perfectly in my fridge for 3 weeks. All are about the same size. Asparagus (Atlas), ordered 5 plants, received 11, maybe 2 of plants don't look great but all have roots and most look very good. Recommended. I ordered direct mail order from Hand Picked, fyi.

  10. …LMFAO… u go thru all the time, money and effort to grow ur own and u use chemical fertilizers and toxic perilite and toxic vermiculite … u r brain dead

  11. … roll over and go back to sleep
    … i have a bridge, make that 2, will sell u cheap.
… also ocean front property in the middle of the Sahara Desert, cheap too and will let u buy site unseen.
… OH, u r auditioning for village idiot…OK, have at it ..LMFAO

  12. You didn't flair out the larger, second group of bare roots, like you did the first (small) ones. Just curious about that. W. TN, 8a.

  13. When you said the variety of strawberry you were growing I laughed, I'm up in Canada in zone 6b and have just started my bareroot Sequoia and Ozark strawberries and you're right, the leaves do start growing in a day or two!

  14. Hi there – excellent video and mind blown – never thought of strawberry plants as a ground cover but it makes so much sense! I was wondering how you combat critters/disease during the growing season on all the strawberries or are you planting for cover/composting and not eating?

  15. In NC I highly recommend checking with the local county Cooperative Extension Service. I got 25 bare roots for $12.

  16. Another great video.

Btw, the collard greens here in Boston made it through the winter with no protection. They have perked up and are growing again! They survived days of being frozen solid and totally buried in snow and ice. Temps got down to about 5 degrees at night with multiple nights in the single digits.

  17. What's growing on has been Pete Kanaris Green Dreams slogan for many years. Already in use. You have great content come up with your own great new slogan.

  18. I have an Atwoods farm center near me and they sell many varieties of Strawberry plants for 99 cents for 4" pots. They carry the Sequoia strawberries which I've grown for years

  19. Thank you for this video! We will be starting new beds again this for our berries and bought starts early. Ive got them in containers early indoors but i feel like they are just looking so so. Is there something as far as fertilizer i should be supplementing them with while they are waiting to go in the ground?

  20. I bought some barefoot strawberries from a local nursery. You made me realize I was keeping them moist but they were upside down. Hope some survive. Thanks for the help.
