I don't have flowers in my vegetable garden but plenty around my property. Plus, a hive of bumble bees made a home under my deck in the ground.
Thank so much for your hard work making videos for us. Long time follower here. Can't believe your planting companion is free (thank you for that! I'd pay!!). Setting it up now. Thank you again
Nice! I love growing flowers with my veggies. I grow marigolds, zinnias and cosmos every year. I grow calendula every year too and use them to make salves. You said they repel aphids but I’ve had the opposite effect. They get so many aphids and actually seem to attract them so they act like a trap crop and the aphids stay away from my other crops. I have tried growing Allysum too but I think it gets too hot here in Texas cause it always dies in the heat.
One I really like as cardinal climbers. Bees and butterflies and especially humming birds LOVE them! They reseed easily so they come back and as an heirloom you can easily collect the seeds and plant again next year. I also always plant a variety of basils and let some of them flower for the pollinators.
I’m not seeing the garden guide🤷♀️
THANK YOU SO MUCH. Im try to focus on planting now ,but my wife has just had her nineth heart attack and the doctor said she is slipping way ..
Could u possibly send me a letter with all the flowers u talked about and what they do and what they’re good for and which pests they repel and which ones bring in the predator bugs to take care of aphids and other pests pls ty
I am growing most of these glowers, herbs, & veggies you mentioned to help deter pests. Thank you for sharing this video.
Will you be making a video about square foot gardening and companion planting/interplanting so we can see how it all works? That would be helpful.
My Granny always grew painted daisies. When looking them up to buy some seeds, I learned they were pyrethrum and there's a white one called Dalmatian pyrethrum that is used to make natural pesticides.
I'm starting red and white pyrethrum this year for the gardens.
On a side note, she also grew Naked Ladies in the same flower bed as her Old Maids. I think Granny had a sense of humor 😂
