Mosquito breeding??
You really should move that dirt away from your gazebo
As if you need MY unsolicited advice. If you don't want to paint those white planters until end of season, try spinning them around for now. It appears there's fewer chips on the other side.
Black paint for pots😊
Isn't that tree you planted to close to the gazebo?
Sea Lavender might be a nice hardier alternative to Heliotrope! 😊
What a lovely man! Not just knowledgeable but able to explain so not just experts but novices understand. Best of all — his philosophy!! 😊😊
Hi Janey, you’ve done such an amazing job with your gardens in so short of a time. Just a suggestion, the 3 white pots would look great painted the same cream as the house.
So sorry your video came on and I somehow posted comment to previous video to yours — ooops!
Wanted to say, though, lights can sometimes disturb those toads for whom you built the pond.
Opinion – paint the zigzag pots black to blend in. That will highlight the plants better than the glaring white.
Those echiums are amazing. I’m assuming those don’t work in my zone, as I’ve never seen one anywhere. Can’t wait til those bloom! Deanna @gardensglory
You can clip the chicken wings. Very easy. They will still be able to get on a roosting bar. Ours were flying out of their run.
Love your videos. I would love to see what the zig zag planter looks like without the white pots. You could paint the pots the dark colour and place them in three different spots on the garden….🪴🪴🪴
My pride of medera & blue steeple I ordered from Annie's last year both died. I thought it was too much sun in Texas. Hope it lives.
I have propagated pride of Madeira from cuttings. Super easy.
Mosquito dunks work.
Janey, I hope the new plants are far enough away from the roof and floor. You want plenty of space to
sit and the roof needs to remain stable.
The toads always come to my pond on a warm rainy evening. They sing and sing to entice their lady friends.
Sometimes chickens will avoid a coop if there is something they are trying to avoid……mice, snakes, lice, mites etc.
Janey, PLEEEAAASE paint your white pots the same color as your front door! That would be sooo pretty!! ☺
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Janie, please don't use mosquitofish. They also eat beneficials, like dragonfly eggs and larvae. They actually do more harm than good. Please consider using only the dunks.
So nice to see all your lovely plants. I live in Ct and it is cold and raining. Possible snow. Please send us spring🤷
It all looks beautiful!! Thank you for sharing with us.
I love Ginko. I planted one 4 years ago, but I swear it doesn’t look like it has grown more than an inch!
Maybe I missed it but I enjoyed your podcast as I travel a bit! Haven’t seen any new episodes.
The conifer is way too close to the gazebo
Nice garden and nice video😊
I like the white pots with the rustic gray showing through. I hope the look grows on you enough that you let them age.☺️☘️🌻
Janey, not sure why I didn't think of this before, but why not put a big pot like those flanking your metal workshop near the septic cover? That's tall and easy to see, right? With a big evergreen in it?
I was just writing that adding a pride of Madeira would look beautiful in your garden and like magic you have one gorgeoous
Manzanita and strawberry trees would as
Los look stunning gin your garden
Just a thought, your white pots would look really cute the color of your front door!
Reading comment – I vote move conifer over a little!!! Don’t you love all of our commentary, as we live vicariously through you and your garden. It’s looking so beautiful. Can you even believe how much you’ve changed your property!
The toads and dragonflies are going to take care of those mosquitos! 👍👍👍
Your dog might drink out of that pond so be careful using those dunks.
While you were panning around I caught a glimpse of Robbie’s tree. 😮 It’s grown so much – how pretty!!! Y’all remember when it was just a sad little twig? ❤
And who else thinks Monty should pop in each video and show us his latest stick? He’s amassing quite the collection.
I love toads! I love picking them up, and now I might make a toad pond too
I love how your little pond turned out!!
Could you overwinter them in your greenhouse for some protection?
❤Happy spring 🌱😊
The progress is always so exciting to watch, thanks Janey! Zone3 Manitoba. True North Strong 💪🇨🇦❤️
ATTENTION Janey, please research the idea of mosquito fish, we used them in the past and discovered they were eating the legs off the tadpoles!?! These were the mosquito fished offered by the Vector Dept here in Portland, Oregon. I don't know if there are different kinds of mosquito fish. We found that we could buy feeder fish/gold fish, at the pet store and they also eat mosquito larva and can live happily in an outdoor pond, we also use the mosquito donuts that you can drop in the pond and they do not harm the other wildlife in the pond.
Love this soooo much!!!
What is that purple ground cover?
Have you considered painting or staining the white pots? I think the white is too harsh
Question: Have you ever seen hostas self seed? Mine have loads of seed pods every year but yet I have not seen any baby hostas in spring. Hostas are so easy to divide I just get more that way. I may collect seeds this fall and see if I can grow some.
I live in 9B and I’ve had my heliotrope for many years. I just transplanted some to my yard from pots. They are in shock right now 😮🤞🏽
Hope you feel better soon Linda. Back trouble is no fun.
Hi Janey! I noticed that all your plants seem to just thrive. Did you amend the soil when you first started? Or has it just been all the wood chips you've been adding that are breaking down?
