Are these brown spots harming the West Palm?

The tips of all the leaves are starting to dry up and turn brown. Not sure what to do

you can use diluted rubbing alcohol to suffocate and wipe them off with paper towel, but this is a pretty bad infestation and the leaves won’t go back to green. I would probably toss it.

Scale, as others have said. I feel like these always have scale. Particularly if they’re from Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc.

I use systemic granules on my plants and it really helps with such things

Do you’re self a favour. Chuck it in an outside bin now! You will never clear it. They will keep coming back and back and back and back.

I once got a Palm from Lowe’s not realizing it was infested. It then infested some of my other plants. I’ve read palms are notorious for bugs – I’ll never get another one again!

Have a funeral. Poor baby is infested.

You can spray it off with a hose quite easily.

Yes, scale, they are harmful and highly contagious to any other houseplants you have.

I would spray and wipe it with isopropyl alcohol and leave it outside away from other plants and check on it every couple days and repeat alcohol if needed. If you live where it is still cold out then probably just toss it.

You need insecticidal soap and insecure granules. And to wipe them all of with isopropyl. That many things a LOT AND ID JUST TOSS IT UNFORTUNATELY

If its from lowes they have a policy on plants you can return them and get a new one within a year if they die or have issues
