I purchased a tiny but gorgeous monstera 1 year ago (pic included day of adoption) this is where he's at today. I think he should be split onto 2 pots because he's so stemmy. Everyone else thinks he looks too happy to divide.

I'm terrified of choosing incorrectly.

What do you all advise?

Looks like more than two, split into as many pots as there are plants

I would definitely divide. The roots are generally thick and easy to untangle without much damage. 1 to 2 plants per pot.

To me it looks like you have 5-7.. maybe more in your pot. Typically, you’d only want 1-2, 1 being ideal. I’ve tried 2 in 1 pot twice before and 1 always overpowered the other and the other struggled to thrive. Keep in mind that if you give these guys the right environment, they can grow up to 15 feet indoors! It will become extremely overwhelming for you and the plants if you keep them all in one pot. They’re fast growers and it doesn’t take long for them to get out of control. Good luck!! 😊
