  1. Check out the Gardening Simplified On Air YouTube podcast every Saturday morning with Rick Vuyst & Stacey Hirvela….great hosts, very informative, well done podcast

  2. If the trees on the “source farm” are growing on a hillside, then what exactly will the heirs to the property be farming in the place of the trees? Seems like trees might have been the highest and best crop for a hillside. Maybe grapes? (But the wine industry is going through a thing right now….even some Napa growers had difficulty selling their fruit last year. So curious about this-new info about how those huge trees are situated!

  3. To Arron…I think a video with your drip advice would be great! I’ve watched the previous videos you did in years past and they were very helpful. Where it truly gets confusing, is zones. I don’t believe you’ve ever covered that. 😎

  4. In my experience the raised bed mix is much denser and heavier than the potting soil mix. I too add compost to the raised bed mix, but before I plant I top off with potting soil. The potting soil on top seems to be a great weed supp

  5. Great recap. I think the more trees the better. I think they bring such a beautiful value to the property and privacy. Lots of projects this week love it. Yes Aron just a simple step by step drip video. I’m finally decided to put drip in my garden’s. (PLEASE) Thanks again for sharing this with us. Appreciated.💯💯💯🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

  6. Not into doing a podcast. I enjoy you talking us along with your day to day projects. Getting to see everything on how you plan and create your gardens. It's a learning experience and we get to watch it grow. The ups and downs, like having to take out a tree, or moving something because a spot use to be sunny but now is more shade. Moving it to a sunnier location, saving plants because with proper care they're more resilient than we think. Save the podcasting idea for years down the road, when it's gonna be hard for you to keep up such a huge property and for sure more hired help will be needed. Then there's the family business to think about. I know all too well how fast time goes by. An it will. All those trees are going to be fully grown in just a few years. It's like we see things everyday and don't realize just how much they've grown, like our children. We notice mostly by their clothes and shoes not fitting. I do love in the slow cold months that you tske us along on your shopping trips with your mom and sister. The cooking videos where mom pops in and you're all enjoying a treat with tea in the Hartley. And just having your mom answer guestions the viewers have for her. She and Monica are a part of Garden Answer now. We love them, we love Paul and Bethany to. Andrews is a magical place. We all wish for an Andrew's. Laura you an Aaron have created a channel that brings a touch of everyday life, kids, family, pets, community, kindness to your neighbors. Taking in their considerations when you plant. Believe me a lot of them don't. IMHO, please don't change a thing to your channel. Much love coming from the Peach State of Georgia, where you are mentioned at all the garden centers. It's Laura planted this or that, or Laura uses this product. You're loved everywhere i go. ❤

  7. 27:23 Aaron there are many of us that would love your winter. Not so much of your summer, but the winter would be glorious for us in upstate New York. We have cold from November through April most years. Consider yourself lucky.❤ we also do have the benefit of a lovely summers here. Which is why we put up with the cold weather during the winter. 😊

  8. Laura don't want a Podcast bc she knows how judgey and opinionated people are behind a keyboard. Why invite conflict and detract from the purpose of gardening education? I prefer the "hands on" approach you guys use now.

  9. Was curious about geese eating bark. Looked it up. Adult geese will eat bark off of “young fruit tree saplings”. So not all trees. If you have geese you just need to protect the fruit tree saplings about 6 ft up So you can still have geese.

  10. Thank you for all the lovely entertainment. For a podcast the plants and the knowledge about them might be the stars. : )

  11. Hi Laura, don't do the apple cider vinegar for the knats. I had them extremely bad until i found out about ground cinnamon. I haven't seen not a one since i started sprinkling it around areas that were infested with knats before. I also mixed it in boiling water, let it cool, filtered it and use as a spray as well. I buy the cheapest i can find at the dollar stores and it is a miracle.

  12. Yes I’m in on the irrigation information……I’m always trying to improve and it’s always trial and error….love watching you guys❤

  13. I agree with Laura also. Aaron, I think people would benefit so much from a video of drip irrigation from you! You are very knowledgeable in that area and you come across so interestingly. Yes, Laura, being a Wisconsinite, January and February are the worst!! But you guys do warm up much earlier than us, which I do envy. Your videos during those long months are such a delight though, look forward to them EVERYDAY! I love ALL the trees you've planted, I think they all enrich your property and in years to come it will continue to enhance and beautify it even more. I hope you stay right where you are for a very, very long time. Would love to see Benjamin and or Samantha take over when you're ready to scale back.
