Thanks for the kind words and support 😁🐕❤
my favorite gardener! suggestions for the best way to lower ph for growing this year. some of mine are 8.2 and one is even 9.
my biggest lesson learned over the years is work with and mimic nature as often as possible, takes so much work away so i can get some dang sleep 😴
All green thumbs UP!
Love your content – keep it up
I live in south Jersey so your advice is golden for me! ❤❤❤
Great to see you post a video on Sunday morning James! Starting is the biggest hurdle. The results are well worth the effort! ❤Tuck❤ for ever!!
I only have space for a little garden, but I plant what we eat the most
Welp, I know what I’m doing for the next two hours! Perfect timing! ❤
I'm in Maryland. Our climates are pretty close. I've learned a lot over the years from you. Thank you!
Are you planning on getting another furry friend?
Great lessons to learn sooner than later 👍🏻
💚
Remember the tip for Fertilizers: Up – Down – and All Around for the numbers listed. The NPK. So the First number is leafs and top growth, etc. 1.) More TIP…be very careful what time you apply bug or disease control. Especially during the budding phase (ie where you see flowering start in tree fruit and vegetables)! All types of control, including Neem Oil and copper, will have certain times of year to apply. You can easily destroy your buds, so then have no fruit. BUDDING TIME is as hands off as possible!!! A few bugs are normal and few leafs eaten. You have a much higher risk of doing harm, especially during flowering. The reason bees pollinate your tree is because they are attracted to flower due to a mix of nectar, scent, and color, so you can easily even disrupt one of those traits where the bees just will not pollinate so no fruit or veggies that year. If you ABSOLUTELY have to, best is a few drops of some dawn dish soap in a spray bottle with water. It is very gentle on plants and works very well. You just have to apply it often.
I have mine next to a locust tree because I have no choice, but I think the fact that they are nitrogen fixing has mitigated any issues.
Great information thanks James ❤ ❤❤ for. The Boss
Alight almost 2 hours! Those who prefer the fast food stories should learn how to watch a real lesson. Cheers
I’m year five on my food forest conversion. You and Paul gautschi were my inspiration to get started. Thank you so much. You should write a small book with a checklist in it. People would buy it
Liking at the start of watching – love from Boston!
Wind!? Welcome to the Midwest where "if it wasn't for the wind….."
James, your videos are truly inspiring. You've helped me make my garden in Bayonne, NJ better every year.
I hope that you are doing well brother, I also lost my dog Tank, who loved our backyard and garden, last year. I can only hope our fuzzy garden buddies are chillin together and smiling down on us all
this came out at perfect time. getting ready for my garden now!
Love your channel!
I have a small patio with limited light, and everything is in pots. Yet, I keep trying!
When you get 1.4k likes on a 2hrs video posted 42min ago. That’s a sign of great content
Your knowledge has really helped me in my gardening journey. Thank you so much for everything!!
I'm a newbie in the gardening game and I appreciate your vast knowledge on being a successful, sustainable gardener!!!
❤❤❤ TYSM ❤❤❤
Watching this while my husband assembles James' new beautiful green elevated bed! 🌱So excited. Thanks for everything, James!
❤
Awesome video! Originally from Jersey then moved to Wisconsin now in mid Missouri. Have my own food forest! 28 raised beds and an orchard of apples pears and peaches. Just got a fruit cocktail tree! So excited!
Thank you James, I always enjoy your content.
I grow in Anchorage AK and I like all your growing knowledge it helps me.
Thank you for giving so much to the gardening community! You give me guidance, confidence encouragement and above all, morivation! Sometimes i get discouraged and i watch your wonderful videos. They beighten my days! Thanks again James!
Probably the BEST gardening video ever! One question. How do I get rid of an area of wide raspberries? It's taking over a garden area and spreading.HELP!!!😮
James, are you still Zone 7a? I started my garden in 2020 and when I looked it up I found I was in 7b. I downloaded an app this year that auto populated my zone as 6b. I had a Mandela effect moment so I googled it. Turns out the USDA redid the hardiness zones in 2023. Blew my mind.
We miss the little king
The biggest lesson in gardening is TO START A GARDEN. No matter how little or big, no matter how much sun you get, just do it. It doesn't have to be more than one old plastic cup and some grocery store dried peas. But the benefits for yourself, your mental health and the environment are big enough that I think if you have even the tiniest bit of interest toward gardening, actually go for it!
