Hi Reddit! I come to you for help.
First of all I ask you to be kind to me. English is not my first language and I've had bad experiences reaching out for advice.
I've had this monstera for about eight years, and she has always been a beauty; lush, bushy and healthy. I've had to chop it a couple of times because she was about to eat my whole balcony, and refused to pay rent. I have always been hesitant to up pot her, but you can only ignore the risc of it going root bound for so long, so last year I did it, cleared the roots and refreshed the soil. It counted as workout.
Everything seemed fine but then came the summer holiday and my automated watering system chose that time to run out of batteries. I came back home and found her dry to the bone.
I decided to not put additional stress on her and left her to do her thing. She has been passing by autumn and winter, but now that spring is near the corner I'm thinking about chopping those browning leafs and see if that activates the auxillary buds. As you can see she has a perfectly healthy leaf that she put out after the watering incident.
What would you do?
I live in Mediterranean climate, if that helps. Thank you so much!
