Thank you all for your questions and comments on my popular Chicken City Tour video! https://youtu.be/avSulps6BFs

Some of the most common questions you had were about the build of this ultimate chicken coop and run, specifically how to roof your chicken run, how to build the walls, how to manage watering systems, what should the floor of your chicken coop be and how to make your entire chicken coop and run predator proof. So I’ve answered them all in this video! Hope you find it useful for your chicken run design and build.

  1. Thank you SO much for this video! We live in FL & your design is perfect for the heat we experience. QUESTION: Do you have any issues with snakes getting in through the chicken wire roof?

  2. Thank you so much for an informative video, may I ask the actual size of the entire city on the outside perimeter, how many square meters? Also what is the courtyard size and how many chickens do you keep? I absolutely love love love the setup ❤ Your chics look so happy and comfortable 🐔 Thank you!

  3. That "roof" is not like chicken wire, it IS chicken wire, not wire mesh or hardware cloth. Not sure where she lives, but that would not hold up in north jersey woods. You can literally push your fist (with gloves) straight thru the gaps between the ties on the seems, maybe trash pandas don't live in her area 🤷 coons rip open the main part of chicken wire before even finding those loose seams, everything else is great tho. That was just the 1st thing I saw and our roofs need to be almost as strong as the sides. Good video and she's made a little paradise for her chickens/garden.

  4. I love it. And those budgies are in heaven for sure🥰🥰. What made you think of adding them in there? Well you just know, we need more info on them now😬🥰🥰. But thank you for sharing. It’s truly such an enjoyment to see your beloved “chicken city”😊

  5. This is amazing! Do you have materials list? I think I could get close based on videos and your drawing but just asking in case you do!

  6. Truly enjoyed watching this and others of your videos! Chicken City is an amazing ecosystem!

  7. I absolutely love this 😍😍😍🏆🏆🏆 Aussie gold!
This is almost spot on the same as what I've had planned out for several years. Unfortunately, I have been sidetracked for this time until the next month or two… but I will be getting a different property later in the year and then I'll get to build something similar. I used to have a lot of heritage poultry until the last few years, I now only have 3 geese, not one chook or rooster or duck for the first time in my whole life, until I move anyway. The geese are waiting to be picked up in a few days by the lady I gave them to. We have given geese, chooks and ducks to each other many times over the years. I need to scale back on livestock to manage the whole move-a-farm aspect and make it much easier. There are also a crazy amount of foxes around here and I don't want the geese stressing out.
For many years prior to this property, I had some big aviaries. Rosellas, Indian Ring Necks, Red Rumped Parrots, Canaries, Cockatiels, many other rescue birds and of course a heap of Budgies! Yours really made me smile as they are the spitting image of the first Budgies I bought for my children. Aquaman (he was stunning aqua colour) and Turk , a beautiful turquoise colour. I only have two pet hand raised Rosies at home now as far as birds that are not geese. When one of my kids moved into town they took the pet Galah and Corella, both rescue jobs, both had lost half a wing as young fledglings. I hope to get some again soon, I really miss them, especially now without all the business of attending all the other birds and animals. Very weird actually. It is so boring! Mind numbing at times. I've never had so few animals in my entire life! I could never live in a town or city, can't imagine not having the animals around. I leave that for other people to do and enjoy, suits some people, just not me.
Enough of my ramblings, well done on a fabulous build! 🏆
All the best, from another Aussie 🇭🇲🦘🙏🦘🇭🇲

  8. Thank you for this information and ideas. I crudely built something similar that's 22×15 and you've given me ideas I love it. thank you and I'm a subscriber now.

  9. In the desert, my single biggest battle is rodents and ground squirrels…

Yes, there are plenty of coyotes and other predators, but the tiniest of the foragers are yhe more difficult to keep out if I were to undertake something so magnificent as what you've got.

Very inspiring, thank you for sharing!

  10. Well i was ready for bed when I found this. If I finish watching, I will never go to sleep. I will be busy trying to figure out how to get one! If I don't, I never go to sleep for wondering about it.

  11. Absolutely amazing….. My next project for sure …small scale of course, but definitely….. thanks for the video 😊

  12. Love your chicken city! And the little birdies too. Do you have any sort of list for plants you have included? I can see some of your barriers to prevent scratching. I would like to include some sort of pool for my goldfish to keep the coons out of it. But the chickens love the plants I grow in with them fish. Might have to fence that off from the chickens. Hum…. Maybe! Thanks for the inspiration!
