yup that’s vinca minor aka periwinkle. it’s a pretty evergreen ground cover but invasive in the eastern US.

Just a lil note: you can pick the flowers off and suck on the back of them to get a little bit of nectar. I always did this as a kid. (Of course be mindful of if pesticides may have been sprayed in the area, and don’t actually eat the flower or leaves)

  3. People are posting all my favorite tiny invasive flowers today!! I honestly love these.

  4. I hope you like it, because you will never get rid of it. It’s relentless, like morning glory.

Vinca major, purple periwinkle. Beautiful flowers, and a nice vine!

I have a bunch that grow in my rock wall with a variegated (green and white leaves) Vinca major and some Vinca minor, white flowers.

Mine will grow and take over the rock wall space then work its way across the driveway. After it gets trimmed back (a lot!) in late spring then again late summer, it grows back again, year after year.

I was thinking, “Oh! Wouldn’t it be nice to have those little purple flowers in the spring!” Then read that they were invasive.

Then took a closer look. My husband has been battling these for three years now.

  7. Vinca. It transfers easily if you want to move it instead of getting rid. Grows fast and looks beautiful 😍
