A few guesses were right. Most were wrong (thankfully!) this isn’t a crap catcher lid. It’s a homemade ranch stock tank. Poly pipe gravity feeds from a nearby stream, and the other one goes back to another, lower stream, for overflow. Neat idea, we assume they used to rotate the sheep into smaller pastures way back when.
