I am looking forward to snother spring boxwood trimming video. It gets me inspired to tackle my own. It must be a task and a half seeing how many box hedges you have planted in the last 5 years! Still even having watched multiple of your boxeood shearing videos I always enjoy watching more.
It looks like 18 for the first one and about 15 for the second one but from the other side it also looks like 18 ft tall.

Don’t forget to stake the new rose lollipops with the guidewires! We got lucky with the first ones during that storm but we might not during the next! Such beautiful roses both in form and in color. The foliage too is a beautiful shade of green. Not all roses have that nice a shade of green. Picked a winner with that variety for sure.

Oh, the gorgeous blue sky at about 20'10"….so nice after all the grey! And then, don't you have a warm, nurturing feeling about taking all these trees, adopting them from the gentleman who loved them when no one else would, instead of letting them get destroyed? And now they have a permanent home with all your other trees, where they can all enjoy their long lives……lovely! Oh, Aaron is their Papa…..and you know he wants one of those tree spades!

Hi Laura, I come out to the garden center every year
and talk to your mom. I’ve met you and your husband after Benjamin was born. I’ve been watching you for years, but I would tell you something about the rose trees. I’ve bought several from the garden center and other nursery’s and I did have a couple of Julia Childs, but the rose trees never get strong enough on the trunk I have had some for eight years and I had 12 throughout my yard we ended up having to stake them with rebar which works really well and we zip tie it. They’re very resilient because we’ve come home with them laying on the ground. They’re so beautiful but very, very top-heavy. I had a beautiful yard in Nampa About a half an acre we recently sold in order to down size. So I’m starting over in a much smaller yard. I miss my yard so much but it was a lot of work.

Sweetheart, I love watching your channel. I was an avid gardener. I am now 72 years old and have had to slow down. I watch you lifting, hauling and shoveling and it reminds me of the work I did. However, I have paid the price physically. Arthritis now rules my body. I tell you this to warn you of what you will face in your senior years if you don’t work smarter now in your younger years. We like to think when we are young, we can do it all but there is a price to pay. Take care of yourself so you can garden into your 90’s LOL.

You explained to prune the rose your first cut was above a bud that was facing out. Do you then cut off the bud below it that was facing inward?
