Garbage truck went through my lawn backing up and turning. It is a very narrow street. Usually they reverse down the street. This driver attempted to turn around twice before he realized his attempt was futile. What’s the best way to go about fixing this?

I’d make the company pay or fix it, then add a small block paverstone retainer. Or place some med/large rocks

I fought the Amazon driver aboht this a bunch of
Times. Almost threw up some WW2 anti tank barriers on the lawn. I just put large rocks lining the driveway, and that worked.

I have the same issue but not quite to this degree. Your level of damage would cause me to lose it. But, to try and answer the question of how to fix it, while everyone else is replying on how to prevent it, this is my plan. I am going to rent a lawn roller, the type you fill with water for weight. Then, I’m going to roll out and flatten my entire lawn along with the damaged area. I will then fill in the divets with some kind of soil… have not decided on the type yet. I’ll roll that again. Then, when the soil temps here are 50-55+ steady, I’ll overseed the damaged area and cover the seed a bit with more loose soil. I then plan on placing orange cones alongside the overseeded area and hope for the best.

A fine display of your children’s artwork with astronomical prices on them. Make it worthwhile next time it happens and they ruin it.

When you say “What’s the best way to go about fixing this?” do you mean repairing the lawn or stopping trucks from driving on your lawn?

Everyone seems to think you mean the latter. Rather than pay for a large boulder or several of them you could pour concrete Dragon’s teeth along the edge of your driveway. These are normally used to stop tanks and armored personnel carriers from advancing on a defending position. You could also shape them to appear as a series of pyramids in your yard and even add a Sphinx for a cool effect.

Repairing the grass itself will be child’s play compared to creating an obstacle that would stop a garbage truck. But a nasty obstacle on the edge of your yard would take out a tire or two and make them wish they had never tried that maneuver.

I would agree with the suggestion of calling the refuse company that did the damage and ask them what they will do about it. They might possibly pay for a landscape company to come and repair it and put down hydrograss.

Good luck and Happy Day! 😊
