  1. <3 Ben is the sweetest thing. OMG that street name, that dear hubby of yours. There is so much love on that farm, we can all feel it from where we are watching, and some days… ya'll are the brightest spots in my day. Thank you for sharing. <3

  2. ❤Thanks for checking in I follow a few others haven't heard from. Praying for ya'll my granddaughters is at school in Alabama she is good just lots of flooding. Take care be safe ❤from eastern Colorado

  3. So glad you posted! Was thinking of y'all and some other youtubers down south. Still waiting to hear from others. Glad you guys are all good. ❤

  4. We had a 5.5 earthquake in Oaxaca Mexico Friday night, our thoughts are with those affected by all the natural disasters happening this week from the US down to El Salvador.

  5. I’ll trade you Winton for RedOak or Cedar. This years Nubian bucklings from Cascara. She’s a great mom with no hoof issues and resistant to parasites. We are in the lowcountry about 2 hrs from you.

  6. I'm so glad the storms weren't destructive by the time they got to you! I am right there with you when it comes to the tedious garden clean up. Although, I have to say that seeing my beds weeded and freshly dressed with compost is one of my favorite things. I guess it's pay off for all the hard work. 😁

  7. Oh my gosh, Jess–I didn't realize you guys were in the midst of that storm system. Your story of Ben touched my heart, and made my heart ache. My boy was not a snuggler, and he was my only one. I often wondered if it was because he was born by C-section, and for some reason, I couldn't nurse him. He had one 3 week long time of crying in the middle of the night, after his doggie died, when he was about 9. We would go and sit with him, and hold him while he cried.
Ben coming for safety to you is a precious moment, for sure, and the silver lining of the darkness of that storm.
    🌻💙

  8. When I was 18 I had very troubled sleep one night and went and asked my Mom if I could sleep in her bed. She didn't hesitate to say yes. I've never forgotten that.

  9. I'm turning my waiting room into a classroom Miss Jess….taking short videos of my seed starting and sharing them on FB for all my peeps too see my progression, but my biggest hope is that I am creating a new gardener ❤ Thank you for blessing us and sharing all that YOU DO…. because I found you on YouTube….I've been growing my garden bigger and better for 5 years now, and I'm expanding as well. This year God told me "To double it" Who am I to question that??😂

  10. Dear Jess, I feel to say this to you regarding the goats- and it may go against everything scientifically known but you know more than anyone how that goes.

There are more options than just deal with it or try to get new goats. Expect the mountain to move.

In keeping them, things happen (that you may not predict) to make them better mothers and fill in the other undesirable areas.

Again, this is probably going to go against known goat knowledge but as I said before you have seen miracles time and time again to know how God works.

  11. When I saw your Brussel sprouts that went to seed before producing I thought of a term coined by an ape. An ape that uses over 300 symbols to communicate was given Brussel sprouts for the first time. Without a symbol for it, he described it as "Trash Lettuce"🤣🤣🤣 I'm sure his were raw, and not deliciously roasted.

  12. Glad you guys are safe!

Have you ever tried growing them over the winter instead of spring? Those might be one of those things that do better in your cooler temps.

I seriously wish we could grow stuff over the winter here, had to laugh the other day watching the willow farm girl (forgot the name of the girl you sold your farm to, she is adorable but I don’t watch her as much as you 😂) she mentioned that people should consider growing more over the winter lol. She clearly isn’t talking to people whose average cold temps hit -25°F each year 😂😭 even with a greenhouse, the best we can do is extending the season by about a month on each side.

  13. I would keep working with the goats on their mothering skills. It might be more of a long term goal for them, but I think eventually they will learn how to be good moms. The first few years may be rough, but eventually they’ll catch on.

  14. just seeing this what day??? Sunday I'm viewing n don't live far as storms travel….had rain over sat pm thru morning ….plz advise ….lol a great science class …add that to their home schooling….woo hoo….

  15. As soon as you said.."You want to go outside?" I got a huge smile on my face as i watched Bear coming towards you. Thank you for sharing him:)❤❤

  16. Patara over at (hope I spell this correctly) Appalachian Homestead has a bunch of goats. She has quite a few she had to bottle feed so her husband made a stand so she could drop the bottles in and the babies stood there drinking their milk and wagging their tails. Since you may run into this issue again, might be worth looking into. Really helped her out.

  17. So glad you got through the storm without damage. I just can't hardly handle the cuteness of those baby goats!
