papyrus plant, a cousin of the papyrus of old documents fame. If you cut off a leaf top and put it in water it will root effortlessly.

You can grow in water too! Ask your friend for a clipping (the top) put it in water or aquarium; it’ll start growing roots.

Edit: oops! Someone already said this but they are absolutely correct ✅

  3. I know this as lady palm, but papyrus seems to be more common name. At Bok Tower it’s used a lot to create separation between areas.

Looks like an Umbrella plant/Parapluplant ( Papyrus Cyperus ), it prefers wet feet preferably the entire year w its feet into the water. Mine started very tiny and is currently very large

My Mom grew these. Easy to root new starts. Just snip one off, cut the stem to 4 inches it so and stick the leafy end in water. Easy peasy!
