Went from the first picture to the next ones in a matter of days. I had thought at first it was transplant shock but now so many leaves are yellowing.
I only water when the top portion of the soil is dry, it sits in this window and gets 12 hours of sunlight a day. I haven't changed anything other than the pot in recent months. The pot change happened roughly a week ago..
Whats going on with this? How do I save this plant? Do I need to chop and prop? If so how do I go about that?

my guess is root rot – i ended up separating my monstera and putting them into too big of pots, and the leaves started yellowing the way they look here. sure enough, each of them had root rot.
i also looked back at one of your previous posts (i recognized the beautiful bushy plant!) and the photo of the roots looks like there’s potentially a good amount of root rot
root rot most likely. repot, chop mushy or black/dark roots, use diluted hydrogen peroxide, repot. make sure the roots aren’t being suffocated in a dense mix, get sum fluffier and lighter.
I posted on here about a month ago with the same problem, and it was root rot. I also changed the pot that my monstera was in and they all started yellowing and dying. Cutting the dark, dead roots off didn’t work, so I had to propagate. It was my first time and I sliced my hand in the process, so DON’T do that!
Did you pot it up into straight potting soil? It’s probably root rot…
“I only water when the top portion is dry.”
It’s probably not drying enough deeper in the pot and is staying wet.
If you have repotted the plant it could be shock — I lost several leaves to yellow death … then after 2 weeks it recovered and started pushing out new growth.
I would check the roots to make sure it’s not root rot but it looks like it could be. I always let my monstera’s completely dry out before I water again. It could be holding too much water 🙁
What soil are you using? Is it just soil or did you add perlite/orchid bark? It looks a little dense
She’s just adjusting. Cut off the yellow leaves and move on!
Potting soil mix looks like it holds too much water leading to root rot. Did you just buy a bag of miracle grow potting soil and pot it up with that? IMO those bags of “potting soil” are the biggest lie in houseplants. Using that will straight up kill all but the most forgiving plants.
Instead, make your own potting mix using ingredients like bark, coco husk, perlite, leca, pumice. I have a large monstera potted in mostly coco husk and perlite. You’re looking for a mix that allows for drainage and airflow. Heavy potting mixes turn into dense mud suffocating the roots
Random yellow leaves is not a good sign..
It’s either been overwatered, has root rot, or both.
You didn’t give a closeup.of the leaves but i.woupd check for bugs also..
First step is to check the roots…
I would also use the chopstick method to check to see if the media is still damp..
1.) Stick a long dowel as far down as possible.
2.) Wait 10 min
3.) Pull dowel
4.) If its dry water
5.) If its dry don’t water..
I would wait until at least 1/2 – 2/3 of the pot is dry before watering
