I got these two as small baby plants labeled “assorted foliage” at a local plant store, when I asked they didn’t know/plants were too young to tell. Are they the same plant?
They looked different when I got them, and the first one (1-3) has a lighter green leaves, pinker/redder trunk(?), and its new leaves don’t look as orange as the second one’s (3-6), but the second one is also more mature so I have no idea. TIA!

My first philodendron was a similar story. Just a no name, generic, “indoor plant sapling”. I didn’t realise how rewarding these plants would be and it was the plant that started my philodendron collection.

I figured it was either an [imperial red](https://livetrends.com/plant-care/philodendron-imperial-red/) or a red cardinal. The other option is a red sun. I felt like a rojo Congo looked similar but the internet told me this is a “rarer” philo.

I just call it my red philodendron now. Doesn’t really matter what type it is. I know it’s a philo and has been impossible to kill. I like how the leaves transition from red to green as they are coming in. I have an orange philo now which is similar.
