  1. lol I call all of my baby chicks “chips” now. When I first started watching your channel, I was still dreaming of owning chickens. We now have our chickens and working on my second hatch ❤ Ducks will be here soon, and goats are my next dream.

  2. I cannot WAIT to not have chicks and baby critters in my living room 😂 that barn is so epic! What a cool blessing 🎉

  3. I love raising chickens as pets. Surprisingly, they can be so affectionate. I have chickens who have comforted me through losses, nuzzling into my lap or against my cheek, trying to make me feel better. Even the most nervous and standoffish birds in my flock come to me for comfort when they're scared or injured, and let me soothe them and treat their wounds. I had two pullets sleeping in my lap today, and the other on my shoulder just because I hadn't been around that morning and they missed me. They're truly just wonderful things 🙂

  4. Hi Cory from central ND zone 4A. I am going to try petchoas for the first time this year, and have also ordered the heliotrope-so excited to smell and see that one!!

  5. It always feels to me like we go from the long slow drag of winter to the first rush of spring all in the course of a couple days. We had close to 2 feet of snow last week and now we have tulips and crocuses popping out of the ground. We will probably have more snow here but the change is so sudden it takes me by surprise. I am trying to get back into some weight training so my body isn't quite so sore when the busy season really hits.

  6. I'm so glad to hear you say that the spring waking up transition time kicks you back. I've been feeling the same way this spring, and have been surprised and a little bit intimidated by chores and keeping on top of things. It helps to know it's a real thing and not just me. Thanks, Jess. Hope your joy bounces you back.

  7. So what flavor of chips did you get?!? 😂 My husband keeps telling me no, so I will live vicariously through you and your boys!!!

  8. We can’t have chickens in our neighborhood. But we have a big stump where we set out any worms or dead squash beetles for the blue jays and chickadees to eat. It gets them interested and they end up hopping through the garden looking for them eventually

  9. Jess, I was just pondering those same thoughts about transition from the other side! Told my husband, "Someday when I have the big garden and animals, I'll look back on this time and think it was so easy! I need to be grateful for this season as I pray for God to expand my capacity and ability to manage more." Thank you for marking the path well!! It's a beautiful blessing to have someone a few steps ahead who also has the heart posture that I'm trying to cultivate in my life. Grateful for you!!

  10. Ben!! I hope you know I had to see that repeatedly…his little face is adorable!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 oh my goodness…i can't 😂😂😂😂😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 they grow up way too fast.
You have great helpers! Good job guys!

  11. I would love an update on your store. I remember you walking about patterning with my Murray and selling stuff from your store. Are you still planning on doing that? Just curious.
