Looking for a little advice. My bullcalf was born just yesterday (3/9/25) and his the way his front legs/hooves are bending doesn’t look normal to me. Looks like he’s rocked back to far on his heels.

Give him a day or 2. They are born with a coating on their hooves that protect mommas insides. It may take a few days to dry up and fall off if momma didn’t chew it all off.

Movement is good for him so those tendons and joints can stretch out, turn out (vs in a stall) would be best with his mama.

I do agree it will improve and this is not bad but I’d give a shot of selenium. We do that with all calves when born. But this one especially needs it . It can be a sign of white muscle disease which is a selenium deficiency. I also give my cows a mineral tube 3 months before calving to avoid this
