I can’t wait to see how the Eden climbers work out. I love that look.
Hi Tiffany, I love watching The Southerner’s Garden and Roots and Refuge and Bre Ellis. Three good informative garners. Can’t wait to see what you and Danny do this year. As I know I have said before I love your channel. Have a great week
This video hit me on a personal level. My mom, who passed away last May, loved gardening. Be it vegetables or flowers. She was good at it, too! The saying in our family was, "All Peggy has to do is touch it, and it'll grow." She loved all the plants you mentioned in this video. Her hydrangeas were the envy of the neighborhood. 😊 They were huge and a beautiful deep purple. She could look at any flower, shrub, or tree and tell you what kind it was, how to take care of it and if it would "do good" in my yard. She always wanted me to plant jasmine or Honeysuckle by my mailbox. "You should give the mailman something pretty to look at and nice to smell in case they're having a bad day." I think I will this year for her. Thank you for this video, Tiffany. It was like Momma was watching it with me. Also, her birthday would've been the 28th of this month. ❤
Out of all my home life hobbies gardening is my passion, my favorite! I have also had a few hydrangeas that have struggled over the years. I have popped them in different areas of the yard until they thrived. They all have thanked me by growing massive and blooming like I never imagined possible. I’ve been in my home like you I believe four years now and I too love Garden answer and she taught me if the plant isn’t working just move it. That’s what I’ve done and has it been a success. Good luck to you. Here’s to our lovely 2025 growing season 👩🏼🌾
Build a few raised garden beds and add soil. Plants your veggies and companion flower seeds there. The flowers will bring the pollinators to your garden. Thanks for the video
Can you come help me? Lol I dont have a green thumb😂 Here in Western PA we can't plant until after Mother's Day
Hey Tiffany… great video as usual. For the past 2 years I have achieved beautiful color in my gardens by planting different colors of hostas in groupings….yellow, blue, green varigated as well as different colors of heuceras (? Sp) in groupings….it really brightens up a shady area…I was amazed!! I love all of your plan ideas!!! Isn't it fun???
I am a fall/winter gal (🇨🇦❄️) but honestly, this video is making me excited for the growing season!!
Diatomaceous Earth for keeping slugs away! We have every kind of Hosta on our 2 acre property and it works!
I am going to try starting seeds this year. I did order Berry Poppins for our yard as I am missing the winter interest. Also, Gardening with Creekside had a great proven winner sale, and I got my order in.
I do journal my garden wishes, purchases, fertilizing, first and last frost dates, as well as tips from gardeners I follow on YouTube.
Daffodils would like great down the sides of your driveway, sparsely spread. Fellow 5B gardener. 🌼
Put some Sluggo Plus around your hostas and other plants the slugs and snails eat.
For a weed barrier you can use broken cardboard boxes like Laura at Garden Answer. She has a video on how they did that. Cheap(you have tons of boxes that you take to the dump).
I love to look at gardens. But I don’t want to take care of them. My mom had me pull a weed out of her yard when I was cutting her grass. And it was some kind of poison. I know what poison ivy looks like, so,it wasn’t that. I had gloves up to my elbows on. But I got poison from that weed. And I was covered right around my elbow. I live in Georgia. And I’m originally from Ohio. So if I plant anything here I would go to a garden center and ask them what could live here. I have a sister who is a Master Gardener. That gene didn’t come to me. I would love to have some peonies. But I know they need ants to help them open. And the fire ants here are terrible. So I would have to put them somewhere far from my house. We have a lot of weeds that grow great in our front yard. We live on a hill. And when we moved here they left all the trees they took down for the house out in our front yard. One of our neighbors has o come and taken all the hard wood for his fireplace. But we still have some huge trees out there. And so many things live down there. I might put some pots of things out like you have. But I have a lot of cats who live outside in my yard. And I’m afraid they would wreck everything I try to do. That’s why I haven’t planted anything anywhere. I would like a raised bed beside my house for vegetables. But we have our water trucked in. And I’m not sure I would have enough to water one. We would have to buy another tank for them to put water in. Which would be fine. I’ve seen them in other people’s yards by their gardens. I would not put mulch in my yard. That might attract snakes. Which scare me to death. We have them here. We’ve had a non poisonous one in our backyard. It scared me. And one of my dogs was curious and was really close. So I had to grab him before he got bit. The other two were barking at it. We have city dogs, who moved to the country. And they had never seen a snake up close. And neither had I. My husband wasn’t home the first time. But we saw another snake in our backyard last year too. I would love to have some grass. We have weeds and pebbles. Which don’t stay here either. They wash away with every storm. I have a lot of indoor plants that do great here. But outside gets too hot here.
Sounds like some good plans. I love the pink.
Love the petunias on the front porch! 🌸 We have a wild bunny problem around here as well as birds. They eat my flowers 🙁
Check out Acre Homestead! She 8s the best her garden and flowers are stunning! She also has the best farm to table recipes. She also is a canner as well! Her name is Becky
Egg shells near the base of the plants. Small tuna cans full of beer. The egg shells cut the bottom of the slugs and they won’t climb up the plant. Keep leaves from touch the ground. We have a huge slug issue as well.
I also follow Garden Answer, they have a beautiful piece of property
I love gardening. When we built our house 25 yrs ago, we had nothing but dirt. My husband is now crazy about our grass and I like to plant things. I did a cut flower garden last year along with some veggies. I loved it. Enjoy!
I love your excitement!
Just some random thoughts: Be kind to the mailperson and stick with plants & garden ornaments for your mailbox area. Ants & bees have invaded our mailbox in the past. Dryer sheets in the mailbox will deter the ants, but not sure about the bees. I will probably try container gardening again next year. We grew some tomatoes one year and zinnias last year. The zinnias brought hummingbirds to our back porch 🙂 My Dad used to say for our area in West Virginia (the state, NOT western Virginia), we should not plant until after May 15th.
I also cut off those stems of flowers on my hosta plants! Ha! Its a terrible awful circle of events with grubs, Japanese beetles, then those things bring all the moles to your yard which is a whole other level of pain in the butt! I think I have figured out that it starts with putting stuff down to kill all the grubs. Stop that party before it can get bigger! I also have hanging ferns on the front porch but I cant keep the birds out of them! Last year we had birds having babies 3 times! I use foil, spin wheels, cotton balls with lavendar and nothing has worked! I can't wait to see your yard transformation Tiffany! Good luck!!
I don’t have Martha’s income…or staff! This took me out! 😂🤣
25:31 I am a total novice to growing roses….but like you I love them. So last year I bought 3 rose plants from Jackson Perkins ( online) They arrived packaged beautifully. I planted them and they were fabulous and very easy to take care of. Jackson and Perkins also has some online videos on growing roses. I highly recommend them
Hi Mrs Tiffany! I wanted to comment and tell you how much I love your content and your confidence! My mom and I have been watching you for a couple of years now and you've inspired me to start my on channel! Thank you ❤❤
Hello sweet lady, I have a garden channel I watch. You’ve probably seen it. They live in Oregon and they also have a store. It’s called garden answer… I really love what she does.❤️🧤👒🪺🌷
Will be beautiful additions to your lovely garden ✨️🌼🌞💫
I recommend NOT using Japanese beetle traps…they will draw all the neighbors beetles to your home. Chickens love them, so if you get chickens they will help control them
I’m so excited for your garden content. I know what you mean about researching plants. I bought these beautiful fuschia colored plants called Hot Lips. ( don’t know the formal name ). They attracted hummingbirds, which I loved. We planted them along the side of our house but they grew so wide that they blocked the entry to our gate. We had to pull them out.
I love landscaping also! The bubblegum petunias are one of my favorites too. I usually have several hanging on plant hangers around my yard. It adds to the cozy garden feel and so beautiful.
I adore gardening. It is my obsession. I grow in Arizona, so very different, but I enjoy watching gardening on your channel. I grow year round…our “down” season is Summer when the plants hold on for dear life, lol. I’m sure it is similar in LV. I love growing from seed. Particularly my vegetables. You can save the seeds from your hearty plants knowing they have adapted for your garden. Blessings!❤
Plants….The 1st year they sleep, the 2nd year they creep, the 3rd year they leap!!🌿🌱🌺
