  1. I think this is a great option for someone who is just getting into planting and doesn't have or want to invest a lot into trays and such. I don't think I will be changing my method, but it is a very clever idea.

  2. Thank you for this video, Luke. I have never heard of this before😵‍💫….I know where have I been? But I have been contemplating how am I going to get LOTS of flower seeds started this year. My health hasn’t been optimal so I did not get any winter sowing done. This seems to be just the ticket. I always learn so much from you. Blessings

  3. Toss a seed in a pot. Watch it grow. I think this I a fad…But I like to keep up. Thank Luke! 👍

  4. I will have to give it a test run. I would cut strips out of empty potting soil bags to try instead of bubble wrap.

  5. I've recently tried this with beans and can confirm it works great. Have purchased more packing foam roll to do my next batch of seeds.

  6. I used this with Amazon packaging and planted a mix of brassicas in there as well as in pots. They came up so quickly in the snail and I’ve had to repot them as it’s too cold outside still. The seeds in the pots are still too small to pot up or out.

  7. Started Kale, Broccoli and flower seeds like this last year, all were successful. The roots grew long, unroll and plant.

  8. Personally I think it’s STUPID…. all that work to simply HEAVY SOW!!!!!! ( that is the only thing ur doing for much more work ) To consider it ingenious is beyond me. A big👎. COMMON SENSE People!!!!!

  9. Thank you for great explanation. I heard the term awhile back and was going to investigate. I will be very interested to see how this works.

  10. I rolled up extra onion, leek and celery seedlings, a month ago, they are doing fine. Sowed some nasturtiums a week ago nothing yet.
I think they are good for plants that do not mind root disturbance. I will say they are a great space saver under the grow lights.
    Stay Well !!!!!

  11. I like the idea and seemingly easy technique, but not the plastic. I do, however, have box of newspapers awaiting shredding for compost…

  12. Very interesting but having been an EHS professional I'm always leery of plastic because of plasticizers and now micro plastic particles.

  13. I could see this for mass planted seeds, I don't think I would try it for varieties of 4 or 6 plants ie: tomatoes/peppers/eggplant. Thanks for experimenting for us, can't wait to see if you like it.

  14. Wondering if bubble wrap helps with heat retention. How do you get the seedlings out of those 128s? I really struggled last year ended up using a cocktail fork.. Might give this a try as I am a bit behind on one of my peppers.

  15. I can see it being good if you want to do a lot of one type of plant, but my garden is VERY small, and I only do a few of any type of plant at any one time, so it will still be seed trays for me.

  16. I have jalapeños, California wonder bell peppers and mini bells in snails. They are doing amazing. More plants less trays. I also have yellow onions and bunching onions not doing so well but t😂hat was my fault not the method. I am anxious to see how they up pot or transplant.
