Can I sue my beekeeper neighbour?

  1. Should the beekeeping neighbor be able to expect a pollinator service fee from his neighbors?

  2. OsmerusMordax

Due to the sad state of the world today I cannot tell if this is satire or not.

  3. missourichesthair

This person goes through life with this mindset and probably just can’t figure out why everything sucks for them. It’s got to be hard to be that miserable.

Also, can I buy some honey from the neighbor?

  4. TheBearProphet

You can get back at them by getting a fucking hobby and living your own life, damn. Some people have no real problems but insist on creating some just to bitch about.

  5. Wide-Wife-5877

That person needs their brain replaced with a brick. They might be able to string a sentence or two together after that.

  6. AdltSprvsionReqd523

I hope this person is allergic, gets stung and goes back in the hole they came from.

  7. fuyu-no-kojika

I mean he should get a jar of honey every once in while

  8. kreiggers

Post “pollination forbidden” signs at the full perimeter of your property, so it’s clear that you’re asserting your rights.

Document every bee. Get their name and video them so you can subpoena them later

I mean beekeeping is exploitive. This is coming from 15 years of beekeeping. Set the bees in an area with ample nectar and let them go ham on the flowers. It’s also to the detriment of native bees.

No. They are bees and they are doing what they do in their environment. The only contract here is between the neighbor and the bees. All the neighbor is doing is giving the bees a place to live and in return the bees leave behind honey and Beeswax etc. If he wasn’t providing a place for them to live they would have settled elsewhere and would continue to be taking the pollen and nectar from your plants. And also where exactly is the cost/harm to you? I guarantee that his bees aren’t the only bees taking the pollen and nectar from your plants. So why should your neighbor be the only one who should have to pay you a reimbursement? You should include the wild bees in your lawsuit and sue their Queens! 🐝

And I’m over here luring the neighbor’s bees with bright murals, so they can find my garden

  12. FeralRodeo

I would think the bees would band together with a class action for harassment

  13. smittywerbenjergen

Bigger issue is this guy has hella bees in his backyard all the time because of his neighbor. I would charge a major fee or gas them all.

  14. juicytootnotfruit

If this is real it’s dumb. If this is fake/ satire. Also dumb but simultaneously a waste of time.

  15. EnvironmentNo1879

I’d love to see her “evidence”!!! Just a bunch of bees doing their thing. Hundreds of pictures and videos of different bees with her screaming at them to go away!

This has to be the US, from which I am also from. The “sue culture” here is insane. Like the lady who spilled her coffee from McDonald’s or the burglar who broke his ankle on a set of stairs, I can’t definitively say she wouldn’t win… people like these need to get a phsyc analysis!!! Something isn’t right in her head!

  16. TheRealMasterTyvokka

Can they sue their neighbor, yes. Will they win anything? Almost certainly not.

  17. Send them a bill. Figure out your time and investment. Factor all that plus a small fee for collecting and processing payments. Also perhaps loss of profit depending on if you have a bad winter for example and the said pollinator plants suffer or even die. They should definitely pay for that as well. Ok then. Get that bag yo. 💰

Reply should have been: Can I charge my neighbor for my bees polinating their plants? My bees that I spend time and money to raise are providing a valuable service to my neighbor, and not once has he offered to compensate me. What should I include on my invoice to him? Anyone know the going rate for insect labor?

  19. YaBoiMandatoryToms

You know I don’t advocate for the death penalty for many things, but this might qualify for it.

  20. nulmor-ningster

Pollen doesn’t become honey; nectar does.

  21. Ashesatsea

Monster eye roll here…how do some people get through life at all?!

  22. ohiobluetipmatches

I hate when I go out to masticate the pollen I plan to regurgitate as honey and find out my Neighbor’s bees stole all of it.

Have lost millions from evil insects. I have a huge “no hummingbirds allowed” sign and they still trespass daily.

  23. gen-x-cops

That is some Costanza level of pettiness if not a joke!
