Just bought a new construction home a few months ago in Houston and our oak tree (less than 5 months old) is sprouting these saplings around the mulch. My parents had this same issue at their home and thick roots started coming out of the mulch and was pretty chaotic. Definitely don’t want to run into the same situation in my new home.
Does anyone know what is the proper care I can do to remove them? Thanks

I big drink of Round-up should take care of them. Plus, it will kill anything else that is trying to grow there.
