    Your dogs are peeing in that spot and it is fertilizing the ground.

    In other words, you aren’t fertilizing your lawn on your own, which is why the rest of your lawn looks so thin. It could be looking like those patches. Nice, deep green, thick.

    Alright, this gets brought up a bunch and I’ve got a question for those more knowledgeable than me…

    My lawn has multiple patches like this, but less drastic than OP’s photo. I’ve been at this house for two years, my dog rarely pees on the lawn and I fertilize twice a year. These patches remain. Any suggestions? I just aerated for the first time, my hope is this will fix the uneven distribution of fertilizer.
