I have 2 Silkies and 3 Lavender Orpingtons. They’re funny and silly birds with a lot of personality. The two Silkies alternate being broody and sitting on the Lavender Orpington’s eggs. We haven’t had to cut their hair yet but I’m guessing we’ll need to at some point.

Ours got picked on really bad by the other chickens because they were so small. Something to consider

Lots of blowing drying in the fall and spring

I had 2 for a while. They shared a single brain cell.
Wolferesque
Of all my 16 chickens, my silkie, Pam, is by very, very far, the stupidest. And all my other chickens are pretty stupid. An example of how stupid she is is that yesterday she had a full on panic attack because she couldn’t figure out how to get back in the run. The door was literally one chicken step to her left.
