  1. Does this apply to leeks, too? I’d love to just start all my onion-type seeds at once and shepherd them along the same way if that’s doable.

  2. My trouble is at transplating time. I've had onions looking like what you have the past two years. They've seemed really healthy, I harden them off for a week or so and then when I put them in the ground, they shrivel and die within a week. Last year I did manage to get about a dozen survivors.
I think maybe they just haven't been big enough. I saw something about them having leaves the diameter of a pencil?
I'm hoping the 3rd time is the charm 😂

  3. I think I’m going to restart my onions. Hopefully it’s not too late to get them going…? The ones I have now are looking a little rough and I definitely didn’t plant enough of them. Thanks for the info! 👍

  4. I am growing onion from seed for the first time this year. Thank you so much for your videos. I would not have known to prune them or how long to leave the lights on.

  5. In zone 8A NTX, we plant seeds in ground in October and every Jan, then again in February, freezing temps “zap” the 1st few inches of every plant. I have yet to see any of them show signs of suffering adversely. Even on some super hard freezes the entire stems down to the small bulbs get damaged and then cut off before they become slimy and the bulbs stir end up being baseball sized or bigger. As finicky as they can be with their roots, they are much more resilient when it comes to their tops.

  6. Most important information is about the light requirements. Thank you. I'm starting mine now in Florida, and when my vacation is over, I will bring them back to MA. JUST in time to put in the ground!

  7. Last year I grew onions multi sown as you suggested with Trifecta and everyone including myself was blown away by how big they got! I'm still using my onions as they are still storing well. I just started this years onions!
