I don’t think winter is the problem here. I have pothos that barely drop any leaves during winter since they stay indoors year round (maybe 1 a week or so). Your plant probably needs some fertilizer or a soil refresh so that it gets more nutrients. If the vines are long, it could probably use a trim, as well, because if the plant doesn’t have enough nutrients, it will allow old leaves to die to focus all of its nutrients on putting out new growth.

I’ve had some loss like this with my plants too close to my windows. We had some below freezing temps recently and I saw some yellow leaves here and there

I have a golden pothos that is about 8ft long in the bathroom. I have a marble queen pothos I’ve shaped into a Christmas tree, they are healthy and happy. I STILL pull yellow leaves once every few weeks–plants are happy. The yellow leaves can sometimes be where the plant pushes extra minerals/food it does not need. It can also be a sign that the older leaves are dying to help make new ones. Not all yellow is dramatic like the plant is dying. Just my 2 cents.
Picture of marble queen added because I had a recent on on the phone.
