For context, This avocado plant sits near an east facing window. I’ve had it since this past summer. The longer I keep it, the worse it gets. I don’t see any visible pests on or under the leaves. I do see little shiny spots on some of the leaves, almost like water spots? Any ideas if the spots and the broken/chewed leaves are related? Thank you in advance for an help.

Looks like you also have thrips, but that’s not what’s causing those large holes

    Cat.

Also, I almost post my avocado tree here, because it wasn’t doing well, and I leaned down to pick it up, and my cat had been peeing in it!

I dunno if you have a cat but those are definitely cat teeth marks 😆 put it up high every night…or get a plant hanger! I have a plant my cats keep eating so I just hung it up in a plant hanger near its favorite window and I grow catnip for my cats to snack on

  4. Your avocado plant has come down with a serious case of cat blight.

For what is worth, I don’t have a cat and had a similar thing happening to mine. Looked to have some other evidence of a bug, but never found anything. It goes outside for the summer, and haven’t noticed it again after.

By photo 2 I was thinking ” OP has a cat” and by photo 3 I was thinking “wait I’m pretty sure those are MY cat’s teeth marks!”
