We spent 2 years getting our parent's house ready to sell. One of the last things I did at in the garden was to prune my dad's grape vines. After several years of neglect, I was thrilled to get a nice crop of grapes. (Hope the buyers appreciate the fruit!)
For those with small yards, 50 +/- years ago, Sunset Magazine had a brilliant article on espaliering fruit trees to about 6 feet tall, and in rows positioned to get the most sun in a day.
The homeowner then, could harvest easily and get many trees in their yard with wonderful fruit.
Just an idea for a an average yard space for growing fresh fruit!
I transplanted a grape last year. It out on some beautiful growth and then my mom thanked it completely to the ground๐ญ on accident. Will it grow again or should itoss it and buy another?
Laura, could you turn those grape vines into wreaths and use them or sell them at Andrews instead of tossing them?
I have a dwarf Peach in my Garden. How do i cut that one?

As I am away from home for 5 winter months , then this is good remainder for me to spray my trees, thank you!!! And how about planting that pear tree up against the back of your lovely shed, or it would mess up the foundation.
Great jobโค๏ธ
If youโre using the hose end, does it matter if you spray with copper or oil first?
We make grapevine wreaths from ours.
Laura, I have been making your bread. It's quick, easy. Just enough for a small family supper or in my case, lasts me 3-4 days if I have a slice for breakfast or with my dinner. Thanks so much for sharing.PS..I read that store bought bread is preserved with same ingredient as used in yoga mats. Recipe was timely.
My grape vines are old and I just pruned them . I just cut back until thereโs almost nothing left except cordons . They always grow back vigorously and produce.

I have a terrible phobia of chemicals….I have fruit trees that I have never sprayed because of it. Is there anything that could happen if the sprays you use touched your skin?
Your huge GROWING area are my goals! That snow melting looks so pretty. Also, I just have one grape vine right now, and im hoping I can do gummies with my kids also…SOOOOON
Love the clipping sound๐
Okay, tomorros Ill be brave and go after my grapevine! ๐
Honeycrisp apples are the very best!
Is it not necessary to spray the grapevines with dormet oil ? I do.๐คท๐ป
Hi there, pruning grape vines can be such a mission, but I see you are throwing all the vines that you removed. In my part of the world we like to use the vines to make wreaths for Christmas. If they too dry, just soak the for a few hours in water! Glad to see the sun is out and you are able to enjoy some gardening tasks
I love love watching Garden Answer. My question is have you ever used your grape vines, that you prune off and weave them into wreathโs? They are very pliable and easy to form into wreathโs. Iโve have one and it lasts forever, just swap out the swag on it to fit your holiday and voilร
Mask when spray or take a breath
Perfect!! I needed this!!

Great video, love to watch you prune. Lots of great information.โค
Thank you for the informative video as always. You said the branches were glistening from the fungicides but do they have to be dripping?
