Please help me.
My in-laws recently dropped their houseplants off with us so I can take care of them while they’re travelling.
I have zero experience with orchids but I feel like it’s not supposed to look like this. What the heck do I with it? I’m assuming it needs to be re-potted, but is there anything else I can do to return it to them in a happier state?
The pot it’s in does have a drainage hole in the bottom but I have no idea how often they’ve been watering it. They usually keep it close to a window but not in direct light.

It could use a bigger pot and there are a few roots I’d clean up, but overall the plant look very healthy. IMO unless this is in your long term care and you have the go ahead from the owner, I’d let them worry about repotting and just give it a soak in filtered water once every 7-10 days (fill the white vase with water and let the roots sit for 5 min or so, then take it out, let it drain and dry for a few hours before putting it back in the pot).
