In this video, I share 48 veggies you can plant in March right now! Seed starting season is here, and March is the best month for starting seeds! March gives gardeners the flexibility to plant seeds for both cool season crops and summer vegetables, but don’t delay: temps will be heating up soon, and time is running out! Let’s grow the best vegetable garden of our lives this year and make 2025 the best gardening year ever!

Crops in this video are organized in 2 categories: crops to sow in March indoors for transplanting when temperatures warm, and crops to direct sow in ground. Some crops also give you the flexibility to start seeds indoors and transplant later or for direct sowing right now.

  2. Can you tell me what you use on your summer squash to keep the squash borer worm under control? Down here in central florida, i have a hard time getting any summer squash due to this problem! Thanks!

  3. Please don’t leave us people in other continents out. It’s probably beginning of Summer in America and winter will be approaching in Africa. Keep on mentioning the begging of Summer just to accommodate us.

  4. We are already in the high 60's & somedays high 70's and we are in Zone 8b St George, Utah Mojave Desert area.

It's weird how zone 8b is so different depending on location.

  5. @TheMillenialGardener, when growing tomatoes from seed in peat pods and a heat mat, how often are you watering? And confirm watering after the plastic dome comes off after sprouting?

  6. I have learned so much from watching this channel. Would you happen to have a list of crops and when to plant them in written form?

  7. Thanks for the shout out to PNW – it’s hit or miss if I do t start early I miss good spring ( when we have it) but lot of times have wait longer to plant

  8. Hey friend, I just bought a house in grifton, nc. I’m currently in SW Florida and I have 4 cauliflower plants in grow bags that will never mature properly in this heat. I want to take them up to NC in mid March. Can I leave them in the bags to maturity? Or should I put them in ground when I get up there? They are each about 12-15 inches tall. Thanks in advance

  9. Hello Kim! I'm switching 2 beds. I'm placing sweet potatoes in them. I will be planting mire pollinators. Adding 2 more beds to make a trellis for my Scarlett runner beans. Did you move your passion fruit??

  10. I’m west of Charlotte. Sake zone as you. Starting my seeds this weekend. I saw the last frost date as April 20th

  11. (*Correction*: Swiss Chard is not a member of the Brassica family, it is part of the Beet family.) Great video though! It was very informative & helpful – thank you!

  12. For peppers vs. tomatoes, soil temp for tomatoes are better in the 77 – 80F range and peppers are better in the 80 – 84F range. This is only for starting the seeds, not for growing. Soil temp can be different than air temp by a few degrees so it's best to have a controller for the heat mats that have temp probes that you put into the soil. They aren't expensive. If some of your starts are stubborn and you need to leave the heat mat going (temp controlled), then turn heat down to the lower part of the range for either the peppers or tomatoes. That way the ones that have already popped up won't get overheated.

  13. I am in Spain and want to grow a garden. I am wondering if I can use eucalyptus boards to build raised beds

  14. I planted my tomato seedlings and they came up so fast… but have just sat there with no true leaves for 2 plus weeks. Never happened to me before. Bad soil?

  15. I want so bad to bring my tomato seedlings outside. They are outgrowing the shelf they are under, but I am afraid that the weather may turn. I will try to hold out for a couple more weeks! Spring just can’t come any faster! 😂 🌱❤️

  16. I always thought i was doing something wrong with my cucumbers when they didn't last all season. Great to know they just don't live that long. Never thought to plant in waves

  17.
