Thanks for all the great information! I’m jealous that your snow is all gone,I’m in western Massachusetts and we still have pretty good snow pack!
Have you ever used vermiculite on your seeds? It is supposed to help avoid damping off as well as help hold moisture.
Such a great video Steph! I love hanging out with you in these a little bit about everything videos. I was bobbing my head to the side when we were "checking out the seedlings together " 😂
How fun to see those tiny babies starting to pop up! The roots look amazing on the ones you up potted!
I love your videos! I’ve only grown ranunculus once but they turned out really well. I watched a lot of videos and ended up soaking the corms for only four hours and I changed the water halfway through. This worked very well and I germinated them in the cold garage in the dark.
I have a question about your metal raised beds. What brand are these and what are the sizes? I am looking for something like this in my garden but want to get quality beds and not the cheap flimsy metal ones. The ones you have look very sturdy so would love to know the brand of them and what your thoughts are on them. Thank you!
I had asked you about the bamboo before so thank you for the update! I just added that beautiful witch hazel to my wish list!
Fellow tree and shrub collector here 😃 – question for your Friday show – what trees and shrubs are on your wish list – Japanese maples, redbuds, dogwoods, or whatever!
Hey there Steph! 👋🏼 Really enjoyed this video…thanks for sharing your seed starting progress & enjoyed seeing the various ways you’ve sowed poppy seeds. Ooooh…that Cherry Caramel Phlox is just gorgeous!!! ❤ I love apricot/peach/salmon flowers too so gonna have to pick those up!
YAY…👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼…so excited to see your Viewer Appreciation video on Saturday, 3/1…will send some questions a bit later this evening! 😘

hi steph, great video! your little seeds are coming right on up. very exciting. and the witch hazel i'v got to have one. thanks so much for sharing with us.
Another great video, Steph. I am so impressed with the growth of your Sweet Alyssum. Which variety are you growing? I have a seed packet of Carpet of Snow Alyssum that you just inspired me to start. So excited or this upcoming growing season. Can't wait to see your garden take shape. Thank you💚
❤
Steph is your basement heated? you mentioned that you grow your seeds in the basement.
Lets hope those poppy cubes work. LOL
I love the ice cube trick for poppy seeds!
Do you find that Ossorios Gold umbrella pine really intensifies in gold when temps drop? I am finally seeing it – but it really did have to get cold. #NotImpressed
I also wanted to share- I was really impressed with the tall blue boy bachelors buttons from Johnnys. Relatively new at growing cut flowers from seeds – but I easily grew them and they looked amazing and much more impressive cause of the height
So many great tips. Love the idea of the tp rolls for the Sweetpeas and cow patty pots! I'm starting dahlias from tubers first time this year. Are you going to do a video about yours?
Can't wait for Saturday. My hubby and me love watching you and George!
FUN FUN VIDEO!We too have had a vicious winter in Kansas City. I'm winter sowing for the first time. Yesterday at our garden club our speaker on Monarch Way stations told us about a great deer repellent that really works. I'll get back with you on the name.
Hi Steph, I'm in zone 6b and I'm able to direct fall sow Sweet William, nigella, cornflower and orlaya. They survive winter and bloom in spring. I learned this from Lisa Mason Ziegler. So easy!
Hi Steph. 😊 Very much looking forward to your Viewer Appreciation video on Saturday including the Q&A! 👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼
Here’s my questions:
1. When and how did the gardening bug bite you?
2. You do such a beautiful and thoughtful job designing your gardens. How do you go about planning your designs to make your gardens so cohesive and beautifully layered?
3. Will you plan on visiting any of the private gardens in MA & RI that will be featured during the “Open Days” program this spring & summer? You can find the dates & gardens in your area on the Garden Conservancy website. I’ve been to a few near me in DE & NJ the past two years and they’re sooo inspiring! I’m sure you would enjoy them. If so, please take us along!
See ya on Saturday! 💚😘

Vego trays look very cool. Great video, thank you for sharing your garden
Thanks for the tip on growing sweet peas. 😊
How exciting to be growing all of those seeds! You will have plenty of plants to bring you joy this growing season 🌱🌱🌱I’ve got lots going on in my potting shed, lots of propagation and seed sowing and I also potted up some elephant ear bulbs and the dahlia tubers I saved from previous years 😀I’m so glad I’m a gardener!!!
How do you store your left over seeds?
I love your experiments. I’ve been waiting on your review of the vego seed starting trays. I’m very intrigued and the watering of them looks so much easier than using my other trays. Can you update us on how you liked them?
Do you winter sow sweet pea?
I love that hemlock. Hoping Lowe’s have them this year
I fall behind spraying in the winter too.
Such a great video. I love the Witch Hazel, its on my bucket list. It's fun to see color in February. I love that you showed different ways to grow poppies. I'm so glad you showed how to grow inside. I did throw many seeds on snow, but saved some to try inside. I was also interested in your Pieris evaluation. I hope mine survive winter. Aldo will be trying Sweet Peas tgat way. Congrats on your YouTube success! Looking forward to Sat video🎉
I just found your channel and really appreciate your practical information, and find your voice and cadence exceptionally easy listen to!!! THANK YOU!!! Keep up the great videos!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
I grow those hollyhocks and they are GORGEOUS.
I grew the same lavender and white sweet pea last year and it smelled so good!
Thank you Steph for all of the info! I ordered some poo pots to grow my poppies. Did you cold stratify them first before putting them in the pots? The weather looks beautiful! I'm ready for one of those sneak peaks at spring. Unfortunately, doesn't look like we're going to get it anytime soon. Oh well, I have plenty to do with seed starting. Have a wonderful weekend!
Hey Steph, I grew the Majorette Double Champagne hollyhock in 2023. They were annual for me. They were absolutely stunning! I'm adding them back to my garden again this year. I also have a Peaches n' Cream variety that's a similar look but 6-8ft.
Thank you Steph. ❄️⛄️💚🙃
Love love love this video !!
One question , o got the same phlox , excited to see it ! When and how would you be starting it?
Thanks !
Love seeing the progress on your plants in the basement with the grow lights.
Hi there, have you ever been able to get plum poppies to germinate?? Ive got some in a winter sowing jug and I see 1 sprout, after about a month! Im excited for the one though, the red corn poppies a sprouting like crazy, of course the beautiful blue seem hard to start☹
Ill be starting a small balcony floral scape in zone 4a-b. Your 15 Hacks…video was one of the best of type ive seen. Thank you. Ill recommend to friends.
❤🌱 Oh, how exciting my friend!! Love your channel!
Thank you for another informative video. I garden in MA too. I was surprised to see that your snow seems to have melted off while we currently have at least a 6 inch deep snow cover. Spring seems so far away
Have you been able to make this your full time job yet? I’m gonna have to buy a golden duchess Cyprus now.
Zne 5…..Ontario,Canada. Had a surprised chuckle when I saw that you were starting Forget-me-nots! Here, they self seed EVERYWHERE even when the plants are pulled. One year I had the box of our pickup truck full of pulled plants!
Your seedlings look amazing, Steph! Once you grow forget-me-nots you will have them forever! They self-seed prolifically, but they are easy to pull if they spread too much. You will love the color. 💙💙 I tried starting verbascum seeds again after you encouraged me to try again and they sprouted! I’m so excited! 😆
