I’ve been trying to use the bamboo shaft to slowly lift the branches up but it’s not really working.
The other Jade’s I see the branches all grow upwards. How can I get this one to do the same?

Have you repotted it in a way that the branches would be vertical? Unfortunately, that jade lacked for light. That’s why it grew so long and leggy like that.

It won’t stand up, that’s how it grew. Plants don’t have the flexibility that animals do, especially once mature tissues with even more structural fibers develop. You can either adapt to appreciate the plant’s form or chop and prop it to restart

  3. Your best bet is to repot the plant so that its stems are more upright to your liking. It won’t be perfect, but it’ll be better. Then do some pretty hard pruning to remove the branches that will be pointing in odd directions. Save the cuttings so you can propagate them into new plants. Then make sure the plant is getting a good amount of sun. The leaves should be a dark green with a dark reddish hue around the edges when it’s getting a good amount of light.

To propagate the cuttings, make sure the plant was watered a couple days before making the cuts. Then leave the cuttings on a shelf where they get a little less light than the rest of the plant. Then wait for roots to start growing. Then plant and give them more light.

Other things – don’t worry if you cut off most or all of the leaves when printing. Just water the plant less until you see leaves start to regrow. Make sure the plant is in fast-draining soil, too. When trimming jades, they grow in segments and will die back to the next full segment from where you cut. Plan accordingly when trimming so you don’t lose any feature or branching that you want to keep.
