ps. my gardens are buried under 2 feet of snow and more coming.🥰

  2. I generally grow in ground because I have the space. I've done containers for a few things before, though. In my climate, potatoes are probably best done in containers, as it gets hot quickly once things begin to warm up enough for them to put on any growth. Using containers means an earlier start and the ability to move the plants into partial shade once things begin to heat up. More generally, I suggest hot peppers (chilis, I suppose, for Brits). They're fairly good at tolerating the sort of water stress that will probably be the biggest issue to overcome for those trying to grow melons and large tomatoes in containers.
