Really appreciate your videos
I'm gonna move my ground strawberries to some boxes to make room forvers in Spring.. when can I move my strawberries? I'm thinking March? ROCKY FORD CO
What hardiness zone are you in there Gary?
Another great video. ❤
Awesome info. Thank you
My husband & I added 3 more raised beds today. We got the boards drilled & the 4 sides made in the garage. Finished bolting them together in the backyard yesterday. Today, we just stapled the plastic in the bottom of 18" high beds & shoveled some rock on top of the plastic. Next, we'll get a load of topsoil & mix in a load of compost I each bed. That's for another afternoon. ❤❤❤2all
Thanks Gary. Nice video and great info!
Hi Gary love your videos!! I’ve learned so much from you! I received my seeds the other day, plan on ordering more!! Thanks for all of your knowledge about gardening 😃
Thanks Gary, looking forward to growing alongside you in Virginia! Any advice on growing parsnips? Can I sow and grow them just as I do carrots?
i have a couple dozen finger size purple sweet potatoes can I just plant those instead of using slips ? thank you Gary they were left overs from last years harvest
So jealous my beds are still under 2 feet of snow! Indoor seedling growing doing well! Looking forward to the growing season!
Going to start eggplant indoors tomorrow. Peppers the first of March, tomatoes middle of March- ty for all your advice – Steve zone 6 b
How do I tell when my order is going to come coming in
Hi Gary,
I have a lot of stinging nettle growing all throughout my garden. My hens love it. I pull up handfuls of it daily for them. The Artic Blast had temperatures down to 18F, so I held off with planting peas until Monday. I planted seeds for about 80 shelling peas, and 36 Mammoth snow peas. Today, I planted a mix of sixty-four Burgundy Onions and Yellow Potato Onions. This time, I planted them deeper, so they shouldn’t lose their anchorage. My Malaga Radish, and Giant Radish of Sicily sprouts made it through the cold blast without any problems. They were covered with 6 mil plastic.
Tomorrow’s garden task is transplanting Calabrese Broccoli, All Seasons Cabbage, and Self-Blanching Cauliflower into the garden. After that comes Tokyo Bekana Mustard. The Romaine Lettuce and mixed leaf lettuces need another week before transplanting. I am debating about potting up the Pak Choi, or transplanting. One way or another, it ill be done by this weekend.
I’ve made room, so now it is time to sow seeds for cilantro and thyme. That will finish my herb seeds. It is not looking good for parsnip germination. If I don’t see sprouts by Friday, I’ll resow with an alternative crop of turnips. Bit by bit, bare soil is being replaced with green. I can’t wait until I can get going with my warm weather crops. Soon it will be time to start spraying my fruit trees to prevent Cedar Gal Rust Fungus. It is bad here in Alabama.
Super informative – thank you Gary for helping us to prepare for a productive season too! I'm surprised how much makes it through your winter – seems like the snow just melted but the hardy greens just keep on growing 👍My beds are still a few feet under snow up in Canada but I'm really enjoying planning and watching all my flower seedlings get a head start 😊Enjoy!
Hi, Can I grow garlic in a strawberry container?
Can I put my onion starts out in my garage under grow lights? I don't want to stunt their growth but I am needing the room indoors to start my warmer temp veggies. The temperature never goes below 52 degrees in the garage and the temperatures are starting to warm up outside.
Last season, i sifted all the soil in my grow bags, i found a ton, of grubs.. so many grubs.. we fed them to the birds. We had almost no japanese beetles last year.
Your videos are always so helpful. Thank you
