How often do you have to mist them to keep them damp?
Good video! I'd like to see a similar one concerning celery. My seedlings just don't thrive the way others do.
"Not too wet, not too dry" = Goldilocks moisture!
celery is the most difficult for me… thanks LUC
Thank you.
I'm so excited! I grew peppers last year and they did great. This is my first year starting seeds. Gonna start them today!!
Last year I had a horn worm on my pepper plant. They are nasty! How do I keep them away?
Strawberries I struggle to grow
Spinach is one that doesn't grow foe me either in a tray or directly planted early spring or early fall.
Great tips! Should we apply more or less the same principles for tomatoes or do they like a more moist soil?
What about peppers needing light or not to germinate?
Trick i learned from Monty Don: water them with warm water. I have now done this for years and it helps them sprout when you don't have a heat mat!
I don’t know why, but I can’t ever seem to grow radishes. Should be super easy. I don’t fertilize them but they don’t ever want to bulb out. When some of them do, they always get attacked by tiny little centipede bugs that eat out the bulb.
Will you please talk about how to grow garlic chives and ground cherries
Just got back from the Migardner store! Ready to go. 😊
Bought pepper seeds from you this year, and all seeds have done well and are starting their 2nd row of leaves. No heat mat, but put them on my aquarium instead, and they did well.
I have a tough time with celery and cauliflower
Eggplant. I have such a time getting them past seed starts.
I'm in Zone 5a and my last frost date is 5/20. How many weeks before Last Frost would you recommend starting? Is it the same amount of time for all types of peppers?
I’m determined to grow peppers this year! I can get green, but I prefer yellow/ orange/ red. They always end up rotting on the plant before they change color. Maybe I’ve missed it, but I would love a full video on how to grow peppers to maturity!
Also, we eat a ton of carrots, and I really struggle with getting them to grow. I would love a more detailed video on how to get them going as well.
You’re so full of knowledge and I appreciate that you take the time to make these videos! I’m in NW PA so our climates are similar, which makes your videos extra relevant for me. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks Luke. Planning on starting peppers next weekend, so this is well timed. However, a seed that I can never seem to grow is chives. I’ve had luck with all sorts of alliums, but cannot get chives to grow from seed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My daughter follows you. She started several of your veg and flower seeds on Saturday using translucent plastic milk jugs. We live btwn Lansing and Grand Rapids. I'll make sure that she watches this important video. Are you going to make similar videos for other vegetables? That would be extremely helpful, even if you did this last year. You learn new techniques each year. So videos with your planting and growing expertise would be greatly appreciated, Luke.
Hi Luke! Great video! Could you do a video on eggplant? That would be great! Thank you
I struggle with celery and rosemary. I've started them earlier this year than last year; but, last year I started them earlier than is suggested since it's so cold here in Michigan. They still didn't do that well. They were small when I transplanted and the celery was hollow when I went to harvest it – if that makes sense. Thanks for the tips. They really do help.
Oh my gosh! The seed that is my nemesis in the garden is one the literally every single gardener on YouTube says is the easiest one to grow. 😩 I cannot get onions to sprout to save my life! I LOVE onions and this makes me so sad!! 😭
I have a hard time starting lavender from seeds.
Also growing rosemary, not even from seeds, but a plant. I bought rosemary plants three times and they all died. I blame high humidity climate I am in. I am in Chicago suburbs, it gets hot and humid here in the summer.
I have been gardening for 3 years this season. Somehow I still find value in videos about seeds I have already be successful with, so my vote is to do every seed for zone 6a 😊😂. We will watch them all!
