my mom had this plant at her office and has given it to me in her retirement several months ago. i just adopted a kitty and was trying to figure out what it is to see if i need to keep it out of his reach! thank you!
dracaena marginata as others have said – technically *Dracaena reflexa* var. *angustifolia*.
dracaenas are toxic to cats and the grass-like leaves will attract your beautiful kitty for sure so put the plant somewhere that he cannot easily access. it’s not like one bite and your cat is dead toxic but you don’t want him munching on it regularly.
dracaenas like light but not too much direct light. the big thing is dont overwater. wait for soil to completely dry and reduce watering in winter months. i would say water every week in summer every 2 weeks in winter but always do a finger test before watering.
both the plant and the kitty are beautiful!
