I bottom watered my calathea for the first time ever and this was the waters end result, The plant itself hasn’t really bounced back after I trimmed her after having a rough first winter, and she definitely has a little fungus gnat problem, but was wondering what these little maggot like looking things are?

She gets plenty of light and we are end of summer here in aus, I only water her when her top soil dries out. And the water is always filtered as she is a calathea 🙄

Maybe fungus gnat larvae? Anyone who knows for sure please let me know.

Kinda looks like mosquito larvae but maybe I’m wrong here?

I think it’s fungus gnat larvae. Used to breed them for reptiles. That’s just my opinion
