I got these little cactuses about a year ago and they kept growing and growing and it was so exciting! Every day it looked like they had grown a few centimeters overnight.
About three months ago, I moved into a new apartment with much more sunlight and since then, they’ve started sagging—the larger one is now somehow growing downwards. I only water them occasionally because they’ve seemed really healthy. They’re both still growing a little, but the larger cactus now looks extremely, almost comically, sad. What should I do?? I love these little guys. Should I repot them? Should I gulp cut the one that’s sagging so that it can’t start fresh? Help!

Noo idea – but they’re cute!
They are not sad , they are hugging each other
They look etiolated to me – need more light! They put
I know you said you moved into a new apartment with more light, but cactus need more light than any apartment can give. You can get a grow light and see if that helps.
They’re growing fast to reach the light, and putting all their energy into length and none into support. That’s why they are sagging.
Repot looks like it’s ready to grow some more:)
Needs (or needed for much too long previously) wayyyy more light. They’re etiolated (thinned out from insufficient light). Only way to fix is to chop off the etiolated portion
If the grow you noticed was mainly the part of the cactus that is thinner I’m sorry to say this but it grew like that so fast cause it was searching for more light, there’s a noticeable difference between the thickens on the top and bottom part.
You have 2 choices keep it that way with a lot more of light (consider that they prefer direct sunlight or get those grow lights) or chop, you can try to propagate the thin parts and leave the chunky one in soil as it is until is stable again, basically you’ll have 2 cactuses, the ones that are more slim and tiny (your prop) and the original chunky (which will grow new parts over time).
Overall you have to check how much more light it needs, if it keeps stretching out searching for light is going to weaken overtime 🥲 is a good sign that it stopped stretching maybe now it has enough light.
I think it’s cute like this
Looks like a peanut cactus..
this cactus is so cute, it looks like a pickle! what kind is it??
These will grow like this naturally. I’ve seen full pots of them hanging. Maybe more light for sure but otherwise looks normal to me!
I’m sure it could use some nutrients. Absolutely nothing could survive indefinitely in that thimble of a pot.
