Woke up this morning to my yard having been dug up. I am trying to figure out if this is animal or not. I’m in SoCal, so I have coyote, skunk, possum, and raccoons all through my neighborhood.
Immediately thought “skunk”. Do you have issues with or signs of grubs in your yard? If so, treating could stop this. Usually that’s what they’re digging for(I believe they choose where to dig based on smell), but sometimes earthworms too.

Arena works for grubs.

We do have grubs that pop up every so often. The crows usually come by during the day, this was all done in one night so I don’t think it was the birds this time.

I had this happen to me during the day, rather than overnight. It was crows eating grubs. Did several rounds of grub control, but it’s still occurring.
