My monstera has massively overgrown its area, but it seems healthy other than that the brown spots appeared recently. It lives inside, in a corner with light from 2 sides but it's getting unwieldy. How can I trim it back? Do I cut the top and let it regrow or put the top in a new pot and bury the aerial roots? All the videos I can find of pruning them use tiny plants compared to this one. Thanks for any information.

You can just cut the top and put it in new pot burring the aerial roots as you said. I did it to all my monsteras when they were getting too big and they all are just fine.
